About Bill Hall"...a talented composer-lyricist-performer, whose home-spun songs are gleaning enthusiastic listeners." -- ALBANY KNICKERBOCKER NEWS Bill Hall is a native of the Adirondack Mountains. He was born in Newcomb, New York, a little town near the headwaters of the Hudson River. Bill is a great-grandson of Harrison Hall, the Adirondack guide who delivered news of President McKinley's assassination to Theodore Roosevelt. Bill received his first guitar when he was nine. After studying with Nashville guitarist Chet Atkins, he developed his own style of fingerpicking and began composing songs about his homeland and our American heritage. His song "Teddy," about Roosevelt's life, was featured in the New York Times. Formally known as the Adirondack Tradition Bearer, Bill is often referred to as the Adirondack Singing Guide because of how he takes his audiences through the history of these mountains in song. Bill has been featured on many TV shows and has shared his music in concert during tours of schools, colleges, libraries, and historical societies throughout New York State and beyond. He has three albums and a recently published book to his credit. more...
